2013 was a great year for us in San Diego, with the Holidays here we realize the new year is near. We have many reasons to be thankful and are eager for what’s to come. RECORDS are selling and local talent is thriving. From The Locust and Rocket From The Crypt reunions to The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble and In Motion Collective’s funky 45s. From The Gaslamp Killer “killing” crowds worldwide to Prayers creating “SD Killwave”. From Soulection to Wavves, we have seen MUCH local success musically in 2013. There are more to acknowledge but nothing prepared us for the last song on Jay Z’s recent offering the “Magna Carta Holy Grail”. The song, “Nickels & Dimes” was taken/sampled from local legend Gonjasufi’s “Nikels&Dimes” off his “MU.ZZ.LE” album and is basically just re-edited and rapped on by “Hov” himself. The “Gonjasufi” brand and label “AIR” forever changed in 2013 and its undeniable.
This interview from 2008 is as relevant now as it was then, we’ve been saving it for the right time and here it is. Hope you enjoy and we hope your 2013 was as prosperous as was ours. We’re very thankful for the support and love we received at “FeeLit”. Happy Holidays and New Year, we look forward to 2014 and our first vinyl and cassette releases. We’re ready to “AIR” it out, adios, see you in January… THANK YOU..
