Musical powerhouse John Legend has been wowing and amazing fans and fellow musicians for many years. In 2004, John Legend stepped into the solo spotlight as a premier singer-songwriter-pianist-performer in his own right with his debut album Get Lifted. Over the past six years, Legend has garnered an astounding eight Grammy nominations and selling more than three million copies worldwide. John Legend’s newest album Wake Up! performed alongside The Roots depicts a seriously soulful compilation of evocative R&B tracks that inspire music lovers of all genres.

Macy Gray is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress, famed for her distinctive raspy voice and a singing style heavily influenced by Billie Holiday and Betty Davis. Best known for her hit single “I Try”, taken from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is, Macy Gray has since received five Grammy nominations and has recently released her fifth studio album The Sellout with two singles that have reached the Top 10 hits on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart.

Coming on strong to the San Diego music scene, this past year, with over 60 packed shows, radio play, and the release of their debut album, “Welcome to Our Side of Town,” there is no wonder why Bedford Grove is in such high demand.

Whether it’s being featured on a movie soundtrack alongside Angels and Airwaves and POD, or opening for internationally known platinum recording artist Pat Benatar, Bedford Grove around for less than a year, could easily be confused for being veterans on the scene.

And for front man Marc Gould, sold out shows and radio interviews is nothing new. At only 20 years of age, Gould’s songwriting and performing skills brought him much success signing to MCA. It gave him the privilege to record with the all star production team The Matrix, and the opportunity to tour Europe and the US; most notably the Warped Tour.

As time progressed, Gould reinvented his musical style. While living in New York, he rekindled his passion for songwriting and sought out a dream for a new project. Gould then moved back to his hometown of San Diego, with nothing but new music and a plan to collaborate with other musicians, and form Bedford Grove.

After absorbing the New Orleans soul and music culture, San Diego bassist Sean “Bash Culver” Sobash, was looking to return to the San Diego music scene. Upon hearing Gould’s project, Bash, felt he could contribute to the overall sound with his soulful groove and his army of talented young musicians. The original drummer, added his flare to the record, but soon left to further his music education. Drew “Drop” Grethel, longtime friend, childhood neighbor, and fellow musician of Bash, filled the drum position, on an unexpected whim, the day of the record release show! It’s impossible to forget that the love duets and vocal harmonies would not be complete without, female vocalist, Ms. Lauren Paul, who adds her sexy presence and sultry voice. And the final touch, a brass section [Matt Davies “Mitty” & Matt Smith “Mitty”], filling up the holes and completing the fresh sound of Bedford Grove.

It’s the new age swing. You can dance. You can groove. You can feel  good. The future looks good for Bedford Grove with coast-to-coast tours  in the books, you can guarantee Bedford Grove is going to share the  love.

“I hear Bedford Grove’s sound as San Diego street rats playing local  Southern Californian feel-good tunes, but with an urban New York flavor  and a splash of New Orleans style horn lines and grooves.” –Joshua  Mallit Capricorn Studios

He often worked for trade, to support his vinyl addiction. He currently owns over 8,000 records. "Listening to my father's albums is when it all began. Flipping through the stacks, cleaning off the LP, placing the needle on the record, reading the lyrics, studying the artwork, and enjoying the rich analog sound. Sure, there are occasional pops & you might have to clean the record. You actually have to flip the record at the end of the side. It's not a play list or program on shuffle. You are present, involved, and engaged in the listening process.
Please Keep Vinyl Alive & Support Local Artists!"
